A Week of Farmwife Fashion

Another week, gone! I’m going to talk about our weather, and my life..so prepare yourself or scroll down to the cute clothes!

The weather was again all over the place. Started off nice, had a full-on snowstorm in the middle of the week and now it’s just chilly. Spring days are in my future!

Now about me. I wasn’t all over the place but I’ve had a lot of thoughts this week. One of my thoughts was, I need someone to type while I think out loud!! I have great thoughts while I’m cooking, laying in bed, changing sheets..etc. One recurring thought is: Body Image. As a kid people made fun of me. I was too skinny. I wished so much to have a body like everyone else, you know, the normal kids. My tall, slender mother would rub my back while she said, “Someday you won’t hate your body.”

I come from a tall, thin family. I didn’t understand metabolism as a kid or genetics. I just hated being too thin to shop in the juniors section when I was 13. I had to get a swimming suit in the little girls section when I was in junior high! Oh the agony. Luckily for girls and women, now there are many size choices. At most stores you can pick petite, regular, tall or plus. Back in the 90s, if you were taller and thin..it was high water dressing! 🙈

I talk to so many women with insecurities about their body. Do we ever fully grow out of this? A super model probably has something to complain about on her body. We are a bunch of women all secretly hoping no one notices our imperfections. The truth is, we are so concerned with our own bodies that we don’t even notice anyone else!! The only time I’m thinking about someone else’s body is when I look at someone and think, you should size down your clothes. Often times women want to cover up their “imperfect” bodies by wearing clothes that are too baggy, which actually makes them look heavier than they really are. Other than that, I’m thinking about my bird legs, my new varicose vein on my leg, my small chest, my hair, we all have our own “stuff”.

What’s my point? Love your body and dress to make yourself feel good! God gave you this body for a reason, take care of it and own it. As far as clothes go: If you like it, wear it. 😘
