Date Night, Brewery Style

Last night Derek and I went on a date that we’ve been talking about going on, for at least nine months. We hit up a brewery in Atkinson, Ne. The establishment is called The Well, the brewery; Brush Creek.

Derek and I enjoy dates, vacations, learning something new and discovering new places. So, going to a brewery is right up our nerdy alley. We didn’t ask for a tour, which is honestly unlike us, but we did have a GREAT time.

The Well is a renovated restaurant and bar located in a historic building. The atmosphere was so cozy. We sat at a high table and chilled for a couple of hours.

The beer was delicious! I picked a beer I loved right away, so I stuck with it. The Haystack, which had an “orangey” taste to it was my favorite. Derek hopped around on the menu and tried a couple before he found his favorite, which was a darker beer.

We started with an amazing appetizer, the Jallapeno Popper Dip. Boom, amazing! I love when you go to a restaurant and the menu items are made from scratch. I’m not fancy, but if I’m going to eat it, it better taste amazing! This dip had some kick and it was paired with fresh baked flatbread. The Well knew how to get to my heart, through carbs!

Not being in a hurry, we waited a little while before we ordered our main dish. The Pizza menu is huge! I love pizza, not surprising for a girl who could live on bread, but I wanted to eat something not ordinary. After studying the menu, I picked out my top three choices and sent it over to Derek, so he could make the final call. Derek picked the Cattleman, which was loaded with mushrooms, sirloin, onions, four cheeses and a creamy white sauce.

They also offer gluten free pizza, which is a win for my mom!

The food was exceptional. Derek and I were making plans, as we inhaled the pizza, to come back with friends this summer to eat on the patio, covered in adorable lights.

We took home a bottle of beer to share, which is good for five days unopened and three days once its opened. It’s getting opened tonight, I don’t want to risk anything…

It was magical, and I’d highly recommend stopping by if you love beer and pizza.
