Why are we so disconnected? And who is really ok with this? Today I stopped by a boutique 20 miles from my home. For those of you who live in urban parts of the world, 20 miles takes me 20 minutes to travel, and I didn’t even meet another car. I live in wide open spaces.
Back to the beginning, I’ve only met the owner of the boutique I traveled to, today through Facebook and Messenger. I’ve seen pictures of her, and talked with her via message. Today I wanted to stop by her boutique, and I finally had the chance to meet her in person. First off, she is way taller than I had imagined and she was even sweeter in person. We’ve texted back and forth quite a bit and sometimes I was afraid she was annoyed with me. After meeting her, there is NO way I was right on my assumptions about her feelings. Texts are so handy, yet SOOO ANNOYING!!
This is me with a text, “Are they mad at me?” “Is she joking?” “Is that sarcasm?” I mean, really, how DO you know?? I’ve gotten myself so worked up over a text when it probably could have all been avoided with an in person conversation.
I love how easy life is with technology, but I also hate it. Our baby was playing with an old cell phone the other day. I saw it laying on the bed the other night when I was folding clothes. It was a slider phone. (Which was mine two years ago. I held off on a smart phone for as long as possible.) I looked at that phone and felt sad, because life was more simple with that phone. If it wasn’t for the camera, I still would NOT have a smart phone. However, I love to take pictures of our kids, and a phone is small enough to carry around.
I want to turn back time in my life and get to know people, in person.Β I really am quite the social butterfly, but I live in a pretty remote area. I stay home with my kids, so talking to people daily is either by phone or text.
Any who, my point it, texts and social media have caused a lot of heartache in my life, and I’m in my 30’s. I pray for my kids that they can avoid as much of this heartache, as possible. Sometimes the heartache in my life is completely made up in my head because I’m not sure the tone of text. Such a ridiculous subject. Let’s bring back social meetings instead of social media!!
Enough of my “deep thoughts” lets rewind to yesterday’s OOTD.

It was Sooo windy here, yesterday!
