Today we read The Umbrella. If you are familiar with The Mitten, by Jan Brett, this is the rain forest edition. The Umbrella: https://amzn.to/2rT51hI
If it ever feels like reading isn’t my focus during preschool, it’s honestly not. I read 4-6 books a day to my children, but during preschool time, we do not have a ton of time. I use our preschool time to work on skills, and occasionally read. I often teach while crazy Max is awake, so we just don’t have time. But I promise you, I read to my children!!
Cutting and pasting practice was next. This printable came from abctwiggles.com

I often push my kids to and from the washer and dryer in a basket. Today we made our basket into a sailboat. You could get all fancy, but trust me, if you are willing to push your kids around, they do not care what the boat looks like. This is my “get ready for bathing suit” pretend play.

It is spring, so we’ve been talking a lot about plants. This is an edible plant. Sam thought this was fabulous. He tried almost every part.

Our next activity was painting rocks. My motto in preschool is: The more simple, the better. Kids love to paint, and they love to paint objects. So, this was a winning activity.

The next time UPS drops off a rather large Amazon order, save that box. When you need some time to yourself, put your child in the box with some crayons.

Trust me, they won’t want to come out. Eventually, they will insist you close the box. I didn’t even offer a flashlight until hour two. Use this time to nap, eat their parade candy, whatever tickles your fancy.

Eventually the baby brother wanted in on the fun, too!!

We have new play doh. Is is wrong that I don’t want Sam to play with it? I know he will mix all the colors. I just want to enjoy that it is new for one day!!
So, get yourself some play doh – new, old, it doesn’t matter. :https://amzn.to/2KxBcv0

and A Plastic Hammer (where ours is, I have no clue?)https://amzn.to/2rQr5dI
Then let that little one pound away. They will love this, trust me!

Happy Teaching and Playing!
