Well, it’s been a while since we’ve had “real” school. Some people might think we are depriving our five year old of a preschool opportunity, but if you could see what he learns when he works with us in the field, you’d understand why we chose preschool at home for our kids.
Sam is exposed to how machines work, how to interact with adults and often times heated discussions over the radio by his parents (I like to think of this as a preview into a marriage). 😉
It snowed too much for us to work in the field today, so we had school today!

We are still working on letter E, so our first activity was E is for envelop.
We read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom next. This has always been a favorite in our house.

E is for Egg, so we did an Easter Egg match. I just simply wrote numbers on both sides of an egg and Sam matched them.
We talked about our eyes next. I made Sam look into my eyes as I explained what each part was called. Then we looked at our eyes in the mirror. We went to the window and exposed our eyes to bright light. Then we looked at our pupils to see their shrunken size. I told Sam to close his eyes, we did this for 20 seconds or so and then we opened our eyes to see how large our pupils had gotten.
Next we weighed pumpkins. Real pumpkins. Fake pumpkins. More than one pumpkin. Etc.
Today was our first day practicing tying shoes. We used a pair of Daddy shoes so they were easier to handle.
We practiced Sam’s birth date, also.

Guessing the musical instrument was next. I blindfolded Sam and played an instrument, then he guessed.
We played Monopoly Jr for the 84th time in two days. This has become a favorite!!
