Letter G, five year old Preschool

I’m going to start sharing a full letter , instead of weekly. I think this will be more useful for people looking for ideas. 😊

Sam chose a puzzle from this Paw Patrol Four Pack of puzzles to start our day.

G is for grass. If you have Easter basket grass, you could glue some of that on a G. Or use clippings of construction paper.

Stanley mows the Lawn is such a simple book, but there is something magical about it that makes all my boys love it. Maybe it is because it is so different than other books we’ve read. Any way, it’s a good book to go along with the grass theme. Book- https://amzn.to/2Vc0Tr6

Sam practiced writing letter G on the Letter School App, next.

For our game, we played a few rounds of a John Deere Dominos- https://amzn.to/2Rg2qgM

G is for Garbage.

Sam sorted garbage next. We got out a bunch of LEGO duplo blocks. I made a “conveyor belt” on paper and areas for different colors of blocks. Sam sorted the garbage.

Another garbage book.

Sam watched an episode of Mighty Machines next, the trash and recycling one. Most little boys LOVE this show.

We read a couple of Christmas favorites next, since it is almost Christmas.

Day 2

Sam warmed up his brain with a paw patrol puzzle. I love watching his confidence grow as he completes more challenging puzzles.

G is for gold glitter, my arch enemy. 😜

G is also for guitar. My kids all love this musical guitar.

Tasting g was next, so graham crackers it was!!

I made some “guitars” for our guitar math. Sam matched up the corresponding number of strings.

We try and talk about shapes as much as possible, so today we played shape pizza.

Sam was supposed to be taking my pizza order and making it on the felt board. I’m not quite sure if he made me a pizza or not??

This was our garden sensory play. I have a container with a bunch of mixed beans. Sam measured, poured and played with the beans.

Then we read The Tiny Seed- https://amzn.to/2SoczVL

As often as possible, we practice tying shoes.

G is for germs, and it is the season for sickness, so we read this book next- https://amzn.to/2GHg8VB

It’s almost Christmas so we read two Christmas books, too.

Day 3

We started off with a puzzle.

Green g. We used our favorite paint dobbers to create this g.

This is a book that plays tricks on your eyes.

Hello Red Fox- https://amzn.to/2GXUzjX

We read Good Night Gorilla for more G fun. I could not locate our book for a few days, so we loaded it on YouTube.

Use Gloves to paint with Green paint was next.

Game time is one of my favorite times, as games teach skill and sportsmanship!!

Chutes and Ladders- https://amzn.to/2TjvvWi

Grape painting was next.

Use bubble wrap to paint and make grape prints.

The best book in the world, and it’s basically unavailable on amazon. πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯ This book is hilarious. Link- https://amzn.to/2MAHWuk

Number parking garage.

This is a great game to play that only requires painters tape or stickers and cardboard.

G is for glasses.
