Letter I, 5 year old preschool

Letter I and other fun!

Warm up with a puzzle- https://amzn.to/2IENeVA

Sight Word Stomp. I yelled out a word, and Sam stomped on it. After each word, I would eliminate the word so there were less to choose from.

I is for Ice Cream!

You can use cotton balls for this, but cotton swabs are all I had. 🙂

Just use colored construction paper. I trace, Sam cuts.

You can’t study I without eating ice cream!

Playing games is a great way to learn and and fun!!

This was another day of school, and another great warm up activity.

Our first activity for the day was an outdoor animal hunt. I hid a certain amount of dinosaurs and told Sam to go find them.

Math subtraction smash- write out some facts on cards. Roll the corresponding number of balls of play doh and let the kiddo smash the “take away” number.

I is for insect, so we used some of our insects to paint.

Just because this little guy is five, and he needs to move, I had him crawl through a tunnel for a while.

We’ve had two tunnels over the years, this one is the best- https://amzn.to/2XmRRHQ

Next we read A Great Idea. This book came from my teaching days, and it is not available on Amazon. 😦

Legos and math. I’d pick and number and Sam would stack up the corresponding number of legos.

We played Crazy Eights to end. Again, I’m a Huge believer in teaching through games.

That’s a wrap on Letter I.
